Tired? No clue what to focus on?

Updated: Sep 28, 2023

My highest goal as a coach is to empower my clients to make conscious choices.

I want clients to leave each session with greater self-awareness and easy access to their personalized

habits toolbox.

When we know ourselves and the tools that best support us, we can prioritize our needs, speak up, and take decisive steps toward our goals.

As a self-development nerd- I don’t want to keep all this goodness in a box (or coaching room).

I want to empower you to coach yourself! A great place to start: Px3

Px3: Pause. Process. Prioritize.

PAUSE ⏸️ - 5 Ways to Create Space

  1. Take a few deep breaths, if possible, close your eyes.

  2. Tell the person you’re with that you need a moment

  3. Go outside or move to a new space (the bathroom, new room, etc.)

  4. Get out some pen and paper

  5. Schedule a day hike or quiet weekend away

Recent hike to Storheia:

PROCESS - Questions to help you gain self-awareness

  1. What emotions are showing up at THIS moment? 🎢

  2. Go beyond the obvious (angry/sad/fearful/happy/surprised). What’s underneath? Not sure how to label what you’re experiencing? Explore the wheel below.

  3. Where is this emotion held? What is happening in my body? 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

  4. What might be causing this emotion to come up? 🤔

  5. What does this emotion tell me I need? 💚

PRIORITIZE - Make a conscious choice about your next steps:

  1. What needs are present?

  2. When can I take an action to meet my own needs?

  3. What do I want to say YES to?

  4. What do I need to say NO to?

  5. What support, accountability, or reminders do I need to follow through?

I don’t HAVE TIME for all those questions. That is FINE. The magic isn’t in the questions but in the process.

Here’s an example:

Aaaaaa! I have too much to do today.

  • PAUSE- take a few deep breaths.

  • PROCESS- I am feeling overwhelmed, scared, and pressured. My to-do list is unrealistic.

  • PRIORITIZE -

    • I need to take a short break.

    • I say YES to finishing my newsletter today and preparing for my meetings and coaching sessions.

    • I say NO to making a “PERFECT” newsletter and blog.

    • I say NO to any non-urgent emails or messages.
